Be inspired by the renowned Photographer- TY Bello


If you know me very well, you will know that TY Bello is one of the people I love so much. TY Bello is an award-winning and multi-talented Photographer.  Describing TY Bello just as a photographer will be such an incomplete profile to present. She isn’t just a Photographer, she is a Singer, Songwriter, Photographer and also a Philanthropist.

Her Education

She attained a degree in economics from the University of Lagos. Upon graduation, she briefly practiced journalism before eventually venturing into photography.

TY Bello’s Family

She is happily married to Kashetu Bello, and their home is blessed with a set of twin boys named Christian and Christopher.

TY Bello’s Musical career

TY Bello first began her musical career with the now defunct group Kush, an acronym for ‘’Kinetically Ushering Salvation into Hearts and Homes’’. The other members of the then KUSH group include: Lara George, Dapo Torimiro and rapper Emem Ema.

In 2008, she released her debut studio album Greenland which earned her a Nigeria Music Award as well as a Sound City Award.  One of her hit songs is  Ekundayo, in which she told the story of her experience with Madam Ekundayo, a woman who dedicated her life to taking care of orphans.


In the year 2011, TY Bello released the future album and the album was ranked 12th on Nigerian Entertainment Today’s list of the 12 Albums to Buy In 2011.

In October 2011, she was one of the celebrities featured in an eight-minute anti-rape video compiled by the Nigerian Ministry of Youth Development to shed light on the victim of a gang rape at Abia State University in September 2011. On 10 October 2014, TY Bello released her third studio album, The Morning Songbook, for free digital download via SoundCloud.

In the year 2018, TY Bello Started Spontaneous worship sessions in her studio, which she has featured the likes of Sinach, Tolu Ijogun, Pastor Laurie Idahosa, Esther Benyeogo, Lanre Olusola, Emmanuel Dania, Tope Alabi to mention a few.

Her spontaneous worship session with Tope Alabi, birthed forth Logan ti ode, a song of the promise of God’s unending faithfulness, and it has gained over 2.6 Million views on Youtube since its release in October 2018.

In January 2019, TY Bello released ‘’The Spirit of Life’’ album, in which she featured the award-winning gospel artist, Tope Alabi.


TY Bello’s Photography

TY Bello’s love for photography is so evident with the kind of images she creates. Be it a musical shoot, birthday shoot, or even a magazine shot, her images are always captivating and inspiring, leaving the viewers stunned with a display of high-level creativity.

In addition, she was the official photographer to former President Goodluck Jonathan during his tenure in office. She also works with Thisday fashion magazine and shoots the cover images for the magazine.

She has facilitated many photography workshops and competitions to include but not limited to GTB’s Days of Dorcas contest in 2018, Live for the story Campaign by Canon, Nigeria Photography Expo and conference –NIPHEC to mention a few. In 2017, Olajumoke the ‘’then bread seller’’ was ‘accidentally’ photographed by TY Bello during an editorial shoot for This Day Style with British rapper Tinie Tempah.

TY Bello’s photography is known for creating stunning and captivating images for celebrities to include: Jumoke Adenowo, Tara Durotoye, Flavour, Olamide, Davido, Tiwa Savage, to mention a few.

TY Bello’s Humanitarian work

The award-winning Photographer organizes an annual photography exhibition to raise funds for orphans in Nigeria. She is also the director of Link-a-child, an NGO dedicated to proliferating information on orphanages in Nigeria and seeking sponsorship on their behalf.

In recognition of her humanitarian service, TY Bello was honored, by the non-profit Communication For Change organization in a five-part documentary film series titled RedHot in July 2011.


TY Bello’s life is full of so much inspiration and creativity.
