It’s a sunny Tuesday afternoon here at my end, and of course, a good time to write on – Learning new things. I will tell you exactly what inspired this post.
Over the weekend, I looked at myself, my personal growth, and where I was in my life. I did a critical analysis of myself, and I made a conclusion that, ahhh, I have grown. So many things have changed about me, good stuffs really. So as my usual practice is, I love to always dig deeper into events that happen to me. I finally could pinpoint to what must have caused the changes I was seeing in my life. I had learned some new things, and that had made me grow significantly.
Why am I talking on this today?
I realise that many people have the intentions to become better, they want to grow be it a vision, idea or even themselves, but they basically lack the know-how to get this done. This all boils down to our LEARN-ABILITY. While learning is different for everyone (we all learn at different paces), but still, it ’s a good practice for all. So in this post, I will share 3 ways you can actually start and enjoy learning.
Let your mind be open to learning from all angles
See, a closed mind can never learn anything in life. As the popular saying goes- Whenever there is a student, there is always a teacher to teach. If you want to grow better and faster this year, open your mind to learning new things from all angles.
Be ready to challenge some mindset you have held on to in the past
Sincerely speaking, you can’t learn new things if you don’t clear out old trash. Yes, this is very true. For myself, I realized that I had held on to some thoughts, behaviours that were limiting my growth, and I had to do away with them. So in order for me to grow, I had to freely and consciously deal with these mind-sets, to allow in new knowledge.
Practise the things you are learning
In the 2019 Goal Setting Workbook I created, I talked extensively on the ‘’DO ACTION’’. This simply means, practise what you are learning. Start taking actions on them no matter how small or insignificant they may seem. To further buttress on this point, I learned this from the book, Destiny, step into your purpose by TD Jakes
‘’The only way to show that you truly know is that you do something about it’’
I hope you have been inspired by this post. 2019 is such a great year with new opportunities for all. But to access these opportunities, it is required that we challenge ourselves to the utmost, learn new things, and invariably grow capacity.
