Today, take charge of your thoughts

take charge of your thoughts
take charge of your thoughts

Hey, I have really missed this space. I am so happy to be back and to write on: take charge of your thoughts. Do you know that it is not all the thoughts that come to your mind that are actually your own thoughts? Thoughts that come to your mind can be either through what you hear from people or see them do. Also, it can also be as a result of your daily occurrences or life events.

Do you know that taking charge of your thoughts is one of the best things that you can do for yourself as an individual? Many a time, a lot of people allow their minds roam about, thinking of just anything that comes to their minds and this should not be so. When thoughts come to your mind, sieve through them, process them before allowing them into their system.

You just might be thinking, how possible is it to take charge of one’s thought. I will share a story.

While I was in my second year at the university, there was a course I was so afraid of failing. This was because of the reports I had heard from senior colleagues who said that passing that course will be like ”going through hot fire alive”.  And so, after I heard of it, I became so fearful. Eventually, what registered in my mind is just how difficult the course was.

But guess what?

I discussed my fear of failing that course with another senior colleague friend of mine. He told something that changed my mind and eventually helped me pass that course. He said- It is what you believe that will work for you. He further counselled me on certain steps to take to prepare for the exam and that eventually made me pass the course.

When I saw my result for that course, I was so glad that I didn’t fail. But one lesson stuck with me afterwards and this is it:

”If you ever want to achieve anything in life, then you must learn to take charge of your thoughts as regarding it”.

In Conclusion

It is not every thought that comes to your mind that is worth thinking and retaining. Do not be a slave to your thought. Take charge of your thoughts. Remember, your mind is the most powerful tool you have as an individual. Every thing you will ever become first starts from the mind. Watch the thoughts you think and retain in your mind.
